Individual Scores.
G3VLG the club station operated by M0URX ,Tim AND M0TAV, Vinny on 6 metre`s started in the AO section, scored in January, with 36 contacts 9 multipliers for 34, 920 points, conditions were very poor, firthest contact was the last contact GU6EFB, 337 Km`s away. The claimed score for last month was 42,705 points and 9 multi`s with 47 Qso`s. It was Dire band conditions, we were introducing M0VZZ Phil to radio operating as to date he had done so little. He was amazed at what he experienced, between myself and Tim and it opened his eyes to a lot of other avenues inside the hobby. See attached photo
2E0SBM 70CM`S made 5 contacts for 85 points, furthest being 85 km away G8OHM 6M`S made 3 contacts for 654 points, furthest being 85 km away, with 3 multi`s. 2 M`S Mark made1,692 points with 7 qso`s and 4 multi`s, G4DEZ 113 km`s away..
M3HBI Craig and G6OES Mike as G3VLG/P 2M`S As impressive as ever, working DX in the AO section, although they have changed back into the AR section for better results as Mike`s QTH and set up is sited well for this type of operation. 81 qso`s 13 multi`s for 131,053 points, longest station was PD2TW a staggering 548 km`s away. M3HBI 70 cm`s in the AL section has 852 points in 14th position, in the February AL section Craig was 5th with 18 Qso`s 8 multi`s for 15,360 points, pretty impressive for a Co Linear and 10 watts His furthest contact was M0MWO 245 km`s away.
M0JAV 2M`S John has moved up to 54th place in the AR section with 27 Qso`s and 10 multi`s for 30,980 points, furthest contact was MI0SMK/P 383 km`s away, outstanding performance from our glorious leader. Heil Hitler Lol. 70 CM`S John is in 51st position in the AR section with 1,980 points with 10 Qso`s and 3 multi`s,furthest contact was G8DTF 138 km`s away, John`s antennae was to low and had interference when beaming to the south.
M6CNG Gareth 2M`S In the AL section scored 2,324 points longest was G4APJ 17O km`s away, He had 24 Qso`s with 5 multi`s for 8,685 points. Gareth had a nightmare. Me and Gareth installed a brand new antennae system on the Saturday prior to the contest a 5 element on 70cm`s and 7 element on 2 m`s, about half an hour into the contest one of his neighbours booted the door down shouting and pushed their way into the house assaulting his pregnant wife and used threatening behaviour with his son, because of Interference problems, this is being pursued by the police as afterwards his telephone cables and TV coaxial cables were cut at the front of his house. I went over and changed his antennae’s back to vertical, and bought the beam and rotator back off him and sold them to Martin M3uyf, for the same price. Ofcom were informed, incidentally the Police were told they had no powers to stop Gareth from operating, Ofcom and only Ofcom are the only governmental department who can stop him, something they( the police) did not like. Gareth had a visit from the local planning officer within a week and is in talks with all concerned regarding the matter.
2E0COV Vinny 2M`S As I sat my full call sign exam, I only got to operate from home for the 45 mins of the contest. I scored 1,506 points, G0AFH furthest contact with 19 Qso`s. 6`M`S and 70CM`S as G3VLG.
Finally Vinny Phil Doug Wayne & Helen all passed the exam 5 out of 6, what a pass rate. Massive thanks to John M0JAV. And to all our members, get into the contests, its not difficult, give us some more points. Wythall Rally. Aside other items bought, I bought a 5 element 6 m beam, which needed about 5 hours worth of work on to bring it back to life, its working fine and hopefully it will mean another station operating for us. 73`S Vinny Hopkins Contest Co-ordinator
H.A.R.E.S. Contesting Well as we are new to the VHF Contests, Things are going very well.
